3/17/2023 0 Comments Inkscape dxf could not be saved![]() ![]() I'd really love to get this working so after a few months of trying and failing I'm hopping on the forum here hoping someone can tell me what I'm overlooking Right now I've fallen back to the plugin method but that's a cumbersome approach as you can tell. Seems like most programs are compatible with the R15 version. This allowed Inkscape and a bunch of other processes to open the saved design without losing the spline sections. Open the R15 file in the program of your choice. importing that last exported dxf does contain the polyline! Save the design as an R15 DXF Drawing from QCAD 4.export that freshly imported dxf back out. ![]() (this exported file does nothing for the spline in inkscape) export as dxf with splines as polyline.I did get a little bit of success using the plugin when I do the following: but that also results into nothing in inkscape. I've tried the plugin "DXF spline to polyline" but that one doesn't work out of the box (i need an active sketch when it's allready active.) so I resorted to the github version that should work.Only a couple work for splines but those mess up the size of the image. I've tried online converters dxf - svg.Allowed values: svg, png,ps,eps, pdf, emf, wmf, xaml. InkFileExportCmd::export: Unknown export type: out.dxf. I've tried plain inkscape open & import. inkscape -export-typeout.dxf in.svg inkscape -export-filenameout.dxf in.svg but no success giving me errpr.I've googled this a lot an tried all of the accepted solutions for other people but they just don't seem to work for me (both on windows and on mac OS). I've included my test.dxf file in attachment My testfile is a simple square 50mm * 100mm with a spline running from one corner to the other (to make sure i can double check the size of the conversion alongside the actual spline). the lines representing the walls are pixels NOT vector lines you can reference. This works perfectly for everything besides splines and I've been using circles and ellipses as a workaround but this just isn't cutting it (pun intended) anymore for me SketchUp allows JPG or DWG/DXF (or PDF on a Mac, but only raster image). Once I've designed something, I export everything in 2D (export sketch to DXF) and re-import it into inkscape to use in the laser cutter. I use Fusion360 to design all sorts of things to lasercut. I've been using a lot of ugly workarounds to avoid using splines since I've never been able to get them to play nice in inkscape. ![]()
